3D Fuel PETG Filament – Midnight Black

3D Fuels PETG filament is manufactured from 100% virgin PETG resin. This 3d printer filament is an excellent filament to work with. It prints very easily like PLA and has many great properties above PLA. For instance, PETG has great optical properties meaning it prints very clear and is near-transparent resulting in excellent light transmission. Try different layer heights and print settings to achieve different effects of light transmission!

PETG also offers great heat resistance and impact resistance similar to ABS. There is also nearly zero warping and extremely strong layer bonds with no odor while printing.

Quality
All 3D Fuel filament is manufactured in a factory in North Dakota to the highest tolerances. They have complete end-to-end control over the manufacturing process to ensure you get the highest quality product. Each spool includes spool metrics printed on each box which includes information such as tolerances and when it was produced so you know it is fresh!

Diameter
3D Fuels diameter tolerance is +/-0.02mm. Many do not think that this spec is important when printing but I would say it is one of the most important. Variations in this spec will cause (not maybe) failures and jams in your print jobs. 3D Fuel uses a multi-axis laser measuring system to control the filament diameter and ovality in real time during production. As your printer extrudes plastic filament it needs an even flow. If the diameter of the filament changes while partway extruding you will get over extrusion or under extrusion at those locations. If you have filament that is 1.8mm thick which by the way falls in the spec of +/-0.05mm filament, it does not take very much for that to jam a printer that is meant to run 1.75mm filament.

Packing Information
Each spool of filament will arrive on a plastic spool inside a vacuum-sealed bag with a packet of desiccant to keep out any moisture and keep it as fresh as possible.

Test Printing
3D Fuel tests their filament on a wide variety of 3D printers in their lab to ensure you have the best printing experience possible. They regularly test on 3D printer brands such as Raise3D, MakerBot, LulzBot, FlashForge, Prusa, Creality, and more.

    This PETG prints amazingly well.

I have tried over 10 brands of PETG here in Canada (3dprintingcanada, filaments.ca, polymaker, printedsolid jessie, kexcelled, ESUN, etc), and by far 3DFuel’s workday PETG is just better in every category.

    – There is no stringing once you get the flow rate / extrusion multiplier tuned in properly.
    – This PETG does not have weak layer adhesion. It is very ductile and can be bent multiple times without breaking.
    – This PETG prints hot, which gives me good confidence in trusting that it is actually resistant to heat, unlike other brands that can be printed down to 200C (???)
    – The surface finish is very good, it is glossy/shiny, but not too shiny like other brands. It doesn’t have that problem that some PETG does where small changes in temperature (I.E print speed) will result in drastically different looking sections on a print.
    – Filament diameter tolerance is the best you’ll find on the market (to be fair this doesn’t really matter for most people, but if you print parts that have friction fitted tolerances this is very nice to have).
    – The spool has a ton of holes, so no matter where the filament ends you can properly tuck it in.

Overall I give this product a flawless review. I won’t lie, I used to be a huge skeptic about “premium” filament, but now that I’ve used a few rolls of this stuff I’m a convert. I I genuinely cannot think of anything negative to say about 3DFuel’s PETG, except that is is costly, but that is to be expected for premium filament.

Thank you very much. I am glad you like using this product. For printing functional parts tolerances matter a lot and that’s where PETG shines! Not all filaments are made equal and 3D Fuel doesn’t cut any corners. No cheap fillers in any of their products.
