The Slice Engineering Mosquito hotend and Copperhead hotend are amazing and share some similarities. They both prevent heat creep, jams, allow increased printing speeds, and they both share the same bimetallic technology used to produce their heat breaks. They are also both beautifully designed and crafted in the US.
Even though they carry many similar characteristics each was designed for different end users. The Copperhead hot end is more like the traditional hot end upgraded with better materials to offer better performance and is suited for the majority of 3D Printers out there. With it’s modular design many parts are cross compatible with other components so you can mix and match. Only the Copperhead heat sink requires that you must purchase the standard heat break for compatibility reasons.
The Mosquito hot end is on another level. It’s the best of the best. It was radically redesigned from the ground up offering unmatched performance. It offers a protective roll cage around the most thermally efficient heat break (85%) available on the market! The design of the hot end also allows for one handed cold nozzle changes as an added feature to it’s incredible performance boost.

Mosquito Hotend
The hotend is one of the most critical parts of any printer. It’s job is to efficiently melt filament and allow the melted material to flow smoothly. Why would you use something that is poorly designed and prone to failures? If you’ve been printing long enough I am sure you have had experiences with unreliability, jams and heat creep or all of the above. A hotter hotend can fix these problems. Slice Engineering hotends can print upwards of 450C. With their patented design they have eliminated these common problems, reduce fan noise, and improve speeds by up to 30%. Print like a pro with Slice Engineering hotends.
The Copperhead hotend was designed to be very modular and able to be retro fitted to just about any 3D Printer on the market. If you want a whole hot end replacement then start from the Copperhead heat sink, add the bimetal heat break, and heater block. You can also decide to just replace the heatbreak or just the heater block. You are in control of what you want to upgrade on your current setup but to get the best performance a matching set is advised.

What does the man of steel Superman have in common with Slice Engineering Vanadium nozzles? They are both virtually indestructible. Slice Engineering went a little overboard when they made their Vanadium nozzles. They are hardened and tempered to 65 Rockwell C all the way through the substrate and not just the surface. They are hard to the core and crafted from vanadium-alloyed high speed steel for superior abrasion resistance at any temperature.
They are so tough they offer a lifetime warranty against abrasion! It will be the last nozzle you ever need to buy!
Achieve peak bridging performance with the BridgeMaster® Nozzle! The increased thermal conductivity of our copper alloy, carries heat efficiently all the way to the nozzle tip, enabling you to maximize part cooling, without worrying about decreasing filament temperature at the nozzle tip.
