Heat set Insert
These brass heat set inserts are designed for heat setting in plastic. They are used to create a connection point in 3D printed or plastic objects, providing a strong and reusable threaded interface. The threaded inside in M3, M2.5, and M2 sizes makes them compatible with many fasteners, and the grooved outside allows them to dig into the plastic and retain their place.
- Pack of 50 pcs
- Bottom portion of the heat set insert is tapered to help with alignment during installation
- We carry M3, M2.5, and M2 sized heat set inserts
These can be easily inserted into plastic parts by heating a soldering iron to around 190C (374F) and pressing the tip through the hole and into the plastic. If you have a short stubby tip that would work best so you don’t poke through the hole and into the plastic directly. To make the connection even stronger try putting the insert on the other side of the object instead of the face. This can greatly increase the strength of the connection dramatically.
