Voron 2 Cast Aluminum 8mm Build Plate
Our Voron 2 cast aluminum 8mm build plate is made with 5083 aluminum. These are high precision plates that have been blanch ground to MIC6 specs on both sides.
For MIC6 plates under 12mm thickness, flatness tolerances are +/-0.4mm and is measured across the entire 5′ x 10′ sheet of aluminum. Once these sheets are cut down to smaller sizes the flatness tolerances tighten up a lot and many plates are below 0.2mm and some are even under 0.1mm. I don’t charge extra for this but it is the luck of the draw. What is important is getting a quality magnet and Spring Steel sheet as these are the final layers and can cause deviations as well on the final print surface and a thick cast aluminum plate will help prevent with any warping as the plate heats up.
These build plates are not multi Voron combination plates and do not have the additional holes along the edges that are the industry standard sold by many stores. By removing the holes you may experience better heating performance when printing close to the edge. Less is better in this case.
We know these plates look so nice when they arrive but for best results before installing build plates ensure that you use a scotch bright or something to scuff up both sides of the plate to ensure best adhesion of the heated mat and the magnetic sheet.
**Please note this plate will not fit a Voron Trident. Holes are drilled specially for Voron 2 printers. If you are looking for a Voron Trident Build plate please click here.

I have not had a chance to test this yet, just arrived today. I can amend this review once I do use it. I can say that the package arrived in good condition and the build plate looks great, as pictured above. The super nice thing is I live in the states and Andy figured out a way to get it to me. Purchasing and shipping to the states is part of his order form now. 350mm Voron build plates are a little hard to come by in North America so keep 3d Lab Tech in mind if you need one.

Hey Tim thank you very much for your patience while I got my site setup to accept orders from the US. Enjoy your build and if there’s anything else you need I’m just a UPS away!

Amendment to my review above.
I still have not actually used the build plate but I did discover today that it is 13-7/8″ on each side, not 14″. I’m mentioning that because I bought another plate as the bottom of an insulation sandwich for my Keenovo heater based on 14″.

Thank you for contacting us. I’m sorry you are having issues with your plate. I have reached out to you through email.

I got the 3D Lab Tech name from the gang on the Canadaland section of the Voron Discord. I ordered a 350 X 350 build plate for my Voron 2.4 build on Dec18th, got it today (the 22nd), its is well packaged and I received it intact. I’m not at the point to mount it as yet, so more, later.

She’s flat and it’s mic6. Flatness was better than reported on. The shipper really tested the package, add something to the corners of the plate.

Yes we take great care in packing these plates and use additional corner protectors because logistic companies don’t handle our packages with care all the time so I pack everything as if they are going to drop or throw it.
